For $3.85, the turkey sandwich on a croissant from the Lombardy Market  is a hard lunch to beat for the price. It’s not really a restaurant, it’s that little convenience store next to Balliceaux on Lombardy St. in The Fan.
You can also get ham biscuits for only $.79 each. I liked those too.
Several people had recommended the Lombardy Market’s sandwiches to me so, I went for a quick to-go lunch while on the run. It was worth the trip. Â You can also get your sandwich warmed in a very cool steam-powered press.
The croissants come from Sam’s Club (yeah yeah, not too cool) in order to maintain the very affordable price of the sandwiches, but I still thought it was a good meal. Â The owner of the market points out that all of the meat is Boar’s Head brand and his personal favorite is the “Oven Gold Turkey” sandwich. Â I took his recommendation and didn’t regret it.
I gave the Lombardy Market’s sandwiches 22 out of 29 points. It was a great value.
For a great sandwich counter check out Nicks Produce Co. Its a small greek market on 400 W. Broad with a Deli counter in the back. All of their sandwiches and subs are delicious. But I always get the same thing, tuna sandwich on Rye, not toasted. Best tuna sandwich in the city, it will change your life! They have a couple small tables in the back to eat in.
I\’ve heard good things before about Nick\’s. I\’ll definitely try it. Thanks!
