Mama J’s – in my new neighborhood

The office where I work just recently relocated to Broad Street near 1st Street downtown.
I’m glad.
The cheap, good food options here are plentiful.
For example, I can walk out the back door and reach “Mama J’s” in just about 4 minutes. So I do.

The first time I went, I had the $8 lunch special. It was Baked Chicken with one side (I got “Mama J’s Famous Seafood Salad”) a corn muffin and a drink.

The portion of baked chicken was large and very good and swimming in gravy. Excellent.
The “famous seafood salad” was actually a pasta salad (mayo base) with seafood in it. It was good, but the chicken was better. I’ll try a different side next time.

Overall, the meal was very good.
I gave it 543 out of 568 points.

Mama J’s is at 415 N. 1st st. in downtown Richmond.
